One Step at a Time

"We live and we learn to take
One step at a time
There's no need to rush
It's like learning to fly
Or falling in love
It's gonna happen when it's
Supposed to happen and we
Find the reasons why
One step at a time"

One step at a time by Jordin Sparks

Yes no need to rush, haste makes waste XD
Trying too hard has it demerits and it our fast paced world and country well i think this is what we need to hear.

Exam in 1 week! Woaahh~
Lets see, Focus is the word.

Frank is back! Haha good stuff. Our reinforcement have arrived! :D
The on the go guy and pro active enthusiasm injects even more life to our youth woohoo!
2 months wont be long but well its really good given that one is supposed to be overseas anyway and doesnt have to come back.

Youth leader this year is seen as successful? Well that depends on the 1 own view. For me I think that there definitely been improvements so it isn't a failure. There are things that have been changing and well I think it wasnt too bad after all. I would like to be an even better youth leader next year then!

Now I'll like to share an essay I read some weeks back, well I dont quite agree with the whole essay but well lets share the part I find interesting and that which u may like it too.

The other side of the coin is this: fall in love.

I didn’t say “be loved”. That requires too much compromise. If one changes one’s looks, personality and values, one can be loved by anyone.

Rather, I exhort you to love another human being. It may seem odd for me to tell you this. You may expect it to happen naturally, without deliberation. That is false. Modern society is anti-love. We’ve taken a microscope to everyone to bring out their flaws and shortcomings. It far easier to find a reason not to love someone, than otherwise. Rejection requires only one reason. Love requires complete acceptance. It is hard work – the only kind of work that I find palatable.

Loving someone has great benefits. There is admiration, learning, attraction and something which, for the want of a better word, we call happiness. In loving someone, we become inspired to better ourselves in every way. We learn the truth worthlessness of material things. We celebrate being human. Loving is good for the soul.

Loving someone is therefore very important, and it is also important to choose the right person. Despite popular culture, love doesn’t happen by chance, at first sight, across a crowded dance floor. It grows slowly, sinking roots first before branching and blossoming. It is not a silly weed, but a mighty tree that weathers every storm. You will find, that when you have someone to love, that the face is less important than the brain, and the body is less important than the heart.

You will also find that it is no great tragedy if your love is not reciprocated. You are not doing it to be loved back. Its value is to inspire you.

Finally, you will find that there is no half-measure when it comes to loving someone. You either don’t, or you do with every cell in your body, completely and utterly, without reservation or apology. It consumes you, and you are reborn, all the better for it.

Don’t work. Avoid telling the truth. Be hated. Love someone

Well the last line is the title and the 4 things are covered in the essay, perhaps I'll post it another time. Its a speech to a graduating class in NTU in 2008 actually, 1 of my friends posted it on facebook. I liked the essay, it was sharp and truthful in many areas. But the reality was harsh too in parts I did not post, things I have yet to understand, the cold working adult world.
Well just some things to think about..
Adios!~

Trust in God!!!

Do u believe in coincidences? I believe in miracles/God's will.
Do u believe in unluckiness? I believe in results of sin/my mistakes or wrongdoing.

Seems like its easier to sleep during the day then at night, but yesterday wasnt too bad, I only woke up once through. Well i should state that I always sleep thru the night so that would be the norm. Hmm well anything bad about waking up at night? Not that I think so. Its just that its itches badly and can be painful in other some other circumstances. If u didnt know, I have eczema and about last Tuesday it spread like wildfire from head to foot, well the intensity of it..

I always seem to draw parallels with whatever difficulties or challenges I face with the cosmic conflict and things in the Bible ^.^
So for this case, u can see the Biblical character Job. His steadfastness and faithfulness thru the whole ordeal is nothing short of remarkable. Definitely much worst off then myself, he had to sit on ashes cos it was so bad. Well and he faced not just this form of attack. He had to face loss in material wealth and status where the pestilences and armies destroyed his children, animals, property, fields. Emotional well being, where his friends were telling him he had sinned and brought it on himself, his wife asked him to curse God which was against his principle.
I'm sure mentally he must have been battered to with all that happened. But spiritually he was a spiritual giant (: Well not of his own truly, but of God that he trusted that brought him through everything.

Key: Learn to trust in God fully now while we still can see Him work in our life, feel him, know him and understand him more and more.
There will come a time when God doesnt seem to be there but He is, its just that we cannot feel Him because of the persecution or suffering we have to go through.
Christ made it thru the way of suffering to the cross and overcame it only because he trusted in God despite all the odds stacked against him.
Trusting God is the essence.

Well kinda hard pressed for time now, Mid Semester Test in 1 week half..
Going for trips to the doctor and taking care is time consuming but well just to get well almost anything save my faith. Well time for piano practice has been horrible too. I dont have to write it exactly, u just have to know its less then 3 hours. After my tests I HAD better do something or everything about it.

Sometimes I wonder if this is the result of me trying to make full commitment to God, well I dont think it is something that is easy but it is a continuous decision that shapes character and that is what is important.

Well I'm not complaining here and u may wonder why I am writing all this. Its just someday when I look back, I'll remember how it was like and how I reacted and perhaps it will be something memorable anyway. You know, I think I like to write more on spiritual stuff then my own life afterall :P Just like how someone has a daily devotion blog.

Keep hanging on! That is Christ message to us. Keep hanging on, I am coming to take you home soon. Hang on, Hang on, Hang on!! This is the message in Rev 16:15 just when it seems like God's people will be conquered completely and He will come back again.

"Behold, I come like a thief! Blessed is he who stays awake and keeps his clothes with him, so that he may not go naked and be shamefully exposed." Rev 16:15

It is also supported by Rev 22:7 “Behold, I am coming soon! Blessed is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this book.”

Be Ready!

Vettel the youngest F1 title holder!

So.. in the end Vettel won the final race just as I expected, but what I did not expect was that Alonso would not win the championship. All he needed to do was place 5th but he placed 7th due to superb driving by the driver in front of him, he drove rather perfectly such that Alonso couldn't overtake him for more than 40 laps!

Congrats to Vettel he's the driver I supported last year when Alonso performance was rather bad. So my 2nd favourite driver won, still happy and he deserved it! (: Initially disappointed about Alonso loss but well I got over it in a while.

Know Reality, Face Reality , Understand Reality, Embrace Reality, Change Reality XD

I tend to be an idealist so I like this statement. It may have been somewhere before but it came to mind. Knowing the situation at hand is important, when 1 overlooks it or misinterprets, disaster is at hand!
Facing it is tackling the problem and not running away or pointing fingers. Takes courage to face the problem sometimes especially when you can just pass it on to others.
Understanding is knowing it inside out I guess, nothing beats knowing that cos you'll be able to make a foolproof plan and well prepare for it in various ways, mentally etc.
Embracing it is accepting it, sometimes when things are beyond your power you have to accept it rather then beat yourself up over it or always thinking what it could have been. Accepting it makes 1 stronger too.
Then having gone through all the 4 things, then can you truly change reality :D well of course with God's help (:
Not my will but Thy will be done. Doesn't mean u sit back and wait for something to happen but work according to godly counsel, impressions from the Holy Spirit, according to the Word etc.
Well more detailed study would give a better answer.

Changing reality is not letting things just run on automation. Changing what you are or the situation you face. Harder then it sounds but well never give up if its worth it.

Just a short summary on reality :P
1 could write an essay but well this is good enough to get the idea :D
And well I like to use the word "you" but I'm just referring to myself.
I think I don't like to keep typing I :P
That was just penning down something for me to keep in mind btw, no offence to anyone with similar experiences.

And for piano practice well its really little the amount I did the previous week so I'm not gonna post it :P
Poor excuse is I was helping out at the seminar and didn't have time to practice. Well I had time but still... This week I'll post it, no more excuses XD

Red!

I've realised recently that I like many things that which are red. It was never my favourite colour but I knew it was a colour I liked still.

The red of Liverpool, Ferrari- Fernando Alonso being the driver I support if not I'll switch allegiance to other teams :P
Red of Singapore :D Yea, I'm sort of a patriot, sing National Day songs any day~
The red that makes me think of Christ blood and his death to save me XD

Lets just take some time to talk about these things.

Liverpool have been mired in relegation zone for much of this league campaign but have came back strongly under the new ownership. 4 wins in a row coupled with Sunday's 2-0 win over Chelsea. Man, I'm all smiles for that result and that Torres is back to red hot form!

Alonso is the driver I have supported since I took an interest in F1 in 2006. He won the title that year and has not won ever since. This year he is leading the drivers standings with 1 race to go. Hope he seals it up and adds to his double crown~ It was especially sweet in 2006, when he beat Michael Schumacher to the title and that year which he retired. Schumacher being the renowned great in the F1 sport for bagging the most titles, 7 in all I believe. Quite a remarkable feat that is. Though he recently came back to the sport with some unconvincing performances, can't blame him though.

Singapore the place I call home in this world. Hmm several things I could say but its not quite the occasion :P More like time to talk about Santa red soon~

Christ died for someone like me. Well 1 could look deeper then that but that act in itself when impacted properly causes me to want to put God first in my life. Yes, my commitment is Lord I want to put You first in my life no matter what.

Matthew 6:33-34 would be for anyone who is looking to a promise by doing this as well.
"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Time to update my piano practice. Hmm I can't back down even if I did badly.
Its for last 2 weeks, this week is not over yet. So 6h and 7.5h.

Be back soon we hope~

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I forgot to post this yesterday as it slipped my mind while I was posting.
Red is also the colour of my favourite fruit strawberry! Yummy~
As well as a fruit juice- Watermelon juice!! I do like some other juices like pink guava juice and others but watermelon juice is just really refreshing and something which I can drink very often/ everyday without getting tired of it :D

Anyway that's about it that I can remember about the colour red for the time being, I'll be back real soon ;)

Clan becoming successful

Today I want to talk about my Battlestations clan :P Recently, we've been doing good on people participating, war points earned, morale and fun!! Thanks to a tactical masterstroke to drop tier, basically to get to a lower rank to fight easier opponents. It had been previously getting dull but now its rejuvenated, can't wait for more success~

Its been 4 weeks of holiday and it has gone by rather fast. Worked through much of it but still had my fair share of enjoyable moments. 1 would be that which is mentioned above. Another would be thanks to you, all the conversations made working worthwhile. If not I think I'll feel dead now :P

Working makes 1 want to study more :D working is considerably less fun then studying.. I think recently I've overcome my mental barrier of being lazy but still its not quite enough. To put into action it is not happening much but slowly and surely. Lets see an example. I want to practice moreee piano. But lets see I'll start counting from Monday so till Wednesday cos I'll like to calculate it per weekly after that. Well first I must say its not meant to boast or to arouse pity for me. Its just a method in which I hope will be effective to help me practice the amount which I want. Well so it'll be on my post if I do post :P Something like this..

Piano : 2.5 hours

Pathetic isnt it? I only actually practised on Monday..
Well I wont have time till Sunday then, so I'll see how it goes when school reopens.
Time to be hardworking. I want to, I need to...

Kakashi Gaiden

Been 5 months since I last posted XD hmm lets say I always wanted to post but never got around to doing it :P

Yesterday I happened to watch this video again and found it touching :P well not exactly this video but its the last part of it ( out of 3 parts) that was especially moving. But overall the whole short story is worthwhile, if u like it u can always consider watching the mainstream video which is Naruto & Naruto Shippuden ;)

And if 1 were to think that ah its just anime (unrealistic) then I guess the video I just watched today again is much realistic in that sense. Its a video Frank recommended previously, I chanced upon a link of his and so watched it again. Its good stuff especially if in need of motivation. Of course watch with an open mind :D

And so the link to 1 of the many videos of his u can check out

Okay lets end my post with a Bible verse. Something to encourage all of us yea? XD

Verse of the day : This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us--whatever we ask--we know that we have what we asked of him. - 1 John 5:14-15

Busy with projects

This post was supposed to be yesterday. Try to imagine it like it was :D
2 projects due tmr ah!
Sloughing hard cos my team is effectively a 2 man project.
Really tiring for 2 ppl to do 4 ppl project. 1 more helping hand was surely almost necessary.
Doing 2 projects in a day is so not cool (couldnt do anything fun)
My other friend left at about midnight..
I continued about another half an hour and "fainted" too

Today, when I was woken up by my brother, I realised I was late for school. Went ahead anyway and for attendance part, the lecturer marks at the end (how kind). Learning is practically on own initiative. Thankfully, I didn't miss much for the lecturer was briefing about a project which was not very important.
Whatever break there was we squeezed in some time and during "free" time during lessons.
And we presented last, giving us a little more time.
But thank God, we made it through today.

Though I realise something. I was relying on my own strength too much. It was exhausting. But got to learn something from this. I realise that being "capable" I tend to rely on my own strength but that just does not work out very fine. And the answer can be seen in the following.

That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10

Time to live that statement out!

Poly Math EOY exam

Much time have passed since I last posted. Today I'll like to say I'm rather happy at my math exam paper. I could do all but 1 which I spent 40 mins on and still didnt know how to do. 1 down, 2 more to go. I sent my laptop for servicing 2 Fridays ago as there were some black lines on the screen about the size of an index finger and half its length. They say it was caused by pressure to the cover of the laptop. Probably when its in my bag. Got to handle it with more care as a screen cost $800+ *jaw drops* Thankfully I have warranty and for hardware it expires in March. Whew~ Thank God. Also got my battery changed as it wasnt working. Will see the results of the servicing tmr. Hope its all fine. Wont want to have to send it for servicing again. I miss my laptop :O

Hols are in a week and I think I'm resigned to working. Hopefully not the whole hols. Wanna have fun whoo! Time passes in the twinkling of an eye. Poly years pass the fastest I heard.. Heard that when 1 is above 20 your speed of learning decreases :( Wonder if that is true. If that is so I've got but a few precious years left to absorb everything like a sponge. Want to make good use of my time but its not always easy...

Time is Precious. Use it well so that you'll not have regrets.

2 As

I'm responding to calls for me to post on my blog~ Hmm its now 2 weeks into 2010. The Christmas party and New Year's party was simply fantastic. Auntie Annie was generous to open up her house to us for celebrate and have fun! Much thanks to her indeed. On both occasions we played table tennis and several fun group games. Some of us also played UNO, monopoly and boggle. A few of us were actually planning to jump at midnight so we can say I jumped at 2009 and landed at 2010 but we forgot as we were popping "champagne". Fun days like these make up for weeks of 'normality' indeed. I am contented to have just 1 really fun day in a week. It would revitalise me to face each new week of challenges. Now for some good news. I got 2 As for my previous test :) God is good :D Glory be to him. I regret not giving God the credit when ppl ask me how I study or why I score well. Its my motivation to do that. So this is my first New Year Resolution for the year. I guess I'll just name some of my New Year's resolutions in no order of importance.
1) Pass my LTCL music exam
2) Get a good GPA (max is 4)- grading system in Poly. Something above 3.6 would be reasonable enough I believe.
3) Pray unceasingly (whenever I am free) I cant be busy all the time. There has to be time for God.
4) Daily devotion.
5) Practice 3 hours of piano everyday
6) Spend more time with friends
7) Give credit to God (mentioned earlier)

I guess 7 is the perfect number so I'll stop at these. Anyway its quite some things to do. It'll be great if I achieve all of them. Progress.. Moving forward~
